Whateke was born

From a dream

Years of hard work, and a deep love for the city that welcomed us and became our home: Seattle.

Daniel Romero and Yamel Tellez have spent many years building their lives in Seattle.

This is where we created our family, formed lasting friendships, and learned the true value of community.

From the beginning, we have believed in supporting local businesses, partnering with regional companies, and serving the people who make this city so special.

During the pandemic

When the future was uncertain for many small businesses, we decided to take a leap of faith and launch a single food truck.

It was a time of long days, sleepless nights, and countless challenges—but also of hope and determination. With dedication and the support of our community, that small dream grew into a fleet of four food trucks.

OVER THE YEARS

We had the privilege of catering events for some of the most recognized companies and organizations in the world, including Starbucks, Amazon, Microsoft, Nintendo, Meta, SpaceX, NAPA Auto Parts, La Mexicana, and Columbia Distributing. We also served at events for Seattle Sounders FC, weddings, churches, community markets, electronic music festivals such as Day Trip Festival, and hundreds of private celebrations.

With that experience and encouragement, we took the next step and opened Whateke Sports Bar.

Today, that vision continues to evolve into Whateke Beer Garden—a warm and welcoming place where families, friends, and neighbors can gather and feel at home.

Our goal is to create a space where everyone can enjoy rotating craft beers, signature cocktails, great food, sports, movie nights, trivia, and unforgettable celebrations.

Whateke is more than a business. It is our story.

It is the result of years of sacrifice, perseverance, and faith. It is our way of giving back to Seattle and to the community that has supported us every step of the way.

We continue to dream big. We continue to work with the same passion we had on day one. And we truly believe this is only the beginning of a project that will continue to grow and make a lasting impact in our community.
